Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has stunned social media users by roasting a turkey on Thanksgiving and pulling the bird out of the pot without shoes on.
On Thursday, the 70-year-old man had shared a video on his social media pages in which he cooked for the celebration.
Kennedy could be seen with his wife Cheryl Hines, of Curb Your Enthusiasm fame, dipping a whole turkey into a pot of murky oil.
He explains that the fat used is beef tallow and shows a box full of white rendered fat to the camera.
As he tentatively lowers the bird into the pot, he says, “This is the dangerous part,” while the beef tallow bubbles and cracks away.
RFK asks Hines, “Honey, are you going to eat some of this,” he pops his head into the frame and adds, “No, I’m not eating turkey.”
Then the video cuts to him 40 minutes later pulling the bird out of the hot oil with no shoes on, as he says, “It’s going to be delicious.”

Her lack of footwear has sparked an uproar on social media, with many also questioning the healthiness of roasting the bird after President-elect Donald Trump tapped her to be health department comptroller.
One person commented on the video: “Taking a huge turkey out of boiling hot oil with bare feet is RFK’s best.”
Another added: “I’m not exactly US Secretary of Health or anything, but you never cook with bare feet AND especially not near hot oil/fat.
“Anyway, good luck to this idiot who cooks his turkey on a coat hanger.”
Another wrote: “I’ve worked in several kitchens and boiling grease and you’re crazy doing this with bare feet lmfao.”
Despite some hating this message, others saw her barefoot approach as a good sign worthy of praise.
One person said, “Nothing says manly like taking a roast turkey off the fat with bare feet. I’ve been following him for a couple of years with his Children’s Health Defense.
“I have so much hope for what he wants to do for our food! Enough of eating crap! Eat what God intended for us to eat!”
Another commented: “Fixing a turkey in beef tallow? I’ll take your idea to MAHA [Make America Healthy Again]!!! God bless you Bobby!

According to the National Fire Protection Association, Thanksgiving is a peak day and they don’t recommend roasting a turkey.
In a public safety notice, the group said: “Turkey fryers that use cooking oil are unsafe. These fryers use large amounts of oil at high temperatures, which can cause devastating burns.
“If you want a fried turkey for your Thanksgiving meal, buy it at the grocery store, a restaurant, or buy a fryer that doesn’t use oil.”
Kennedy’s appointment sent shockwaves through public health care because of his reputation as an anti-vaxxer who has fueled conspiracy theories about a variety of health-related topics.
He has railed against processed foods, vowed to remove fluoride from public water systems and suggested that COVID was designed to be “ethnically targeted.”
Kennedy had boosted Trump’s 2024 election by suspending his independent presidential campaign after the Democratic National Convention ended in August.
